How SN58 pays

The Horizon vault

How Horizon's 70% of the miner emission reaches contributors: one hotkey receives it, its weekly intake is measured, split by points, and paid out as staked alpha.

One hotkey on chain

On chain, Horizon is one registered hotkey: the vault. Validators give it 70% of their weights. Its address is fixed in the subnet's code for each network, so every validator weights the same one. While a network has no vault, or the vault is not registered, its share burns (Emission and the split).

Contributors do not register a hotkey and are not miners. They do their work on horizon.robotensor.ai and in the Horizon phone app, and the vault pays them.

Measured, not estimated

Robotensor runs the pool executor on the host that holds the vault's coldkey. Every pass it reads the vault's stake from the chain and posts each finished week's intake to Horizon, with the blocks it read, as that week's budget. Horizon only ever divides what the vault actually received.

Split by points

Horizon checks every piece of work before it counts. A robot-control run is replayed on Horizon's servers from its own log, and only that replay is judged; a recording is checked against the phone's motion sensors and everything already submitted, and reviewed by people. Accepted work earns points, and at the end of each week the budget is divided by them. The point rules are Horizon's: How rewards work.

Each payout is a document Horizon signs. The executor pays only documents signed by a key it has pinned, as transfer_stake of the vault's alpha, staked on Robotensor's validator, so a payout earns from the block it lands in. Each transfer is written to the executor's journal before it is sent, keyed by the document and the address, so nothing is paid twice, and its extrinsic is reported back to Horizon as the payout's receipt. If the outcome of a transfer is unknown, payments stop until it is settled.

Where to see it

Every week, its budget, each contributor's points and share, and where each payout stands are on Horizon's rewards page. The vault's own stake and transfers are on the chain, and on Taostats.
